HavensSpy Beechbone writes: I was just watching G4 (Video Game Station) and the show Electric Playground had a piece on the War of the Ring, with some info (don't think any was new) and some nice videos and concept art. There was also a small part after that about the new Toy Biz LotR toys. It will air again tomorrow at 9:30 pm.

More Titles Means More at Stake

For the "Lord of the Rings" films, director Peter Jackson's version is all you get. But in video games, two starkly different visions of J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy universe are unfolding in a competition between Electronic Arts and Vivendi Universal Games. In round one of the Tolkien wars, EA outsold Vivendi 4 to 1. Eventually EA's "Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers'' game sold nearly 4 million units worldwide, while Vivendi's "Fellowship of the Ring'' sold 1 million. [More] Thanks to Starmaid for the link!

Three LOTR Stars at GenCon This Week!

From Decipher.com: Three of the stars of The Lord of the Rings film trilogy will make special appearances at Decipher's booth at Gen Con Indy, July 24-27 in Indianapolis, Indiana, for autograph signings. Brad Dourif appeared in The Two Towers as Saruman's henchman and treacherous advisor to King Théoden, Gr'ma Wormtongue. Sean Astin and John Rhys-Davies star in all three films as Frodo's faithful companions, the loyal hobbit Samwise Gamgee and the stalwart dwarf Gimli, son of Glóin. [More]

Sharp-eyed con attendees may have spotted three Hobbits, cleverly disguised as big people, at the booth this weekend. Our trusty booth staff promptly fixed up Elijah Wood (Frodo), Dominic Monaghan (Merry), and Sean Astin (Sam) with "even smaller versions of themselves," according to Decipher Marketing Coordinator Kevin Reitzel, in the form of oversized collectible cards bearing their images.
